Tiwa Savage Takes Up Teni’s ₦1.5bn Boxing Challenge: “Pick a Date”

Afrobeats stars Tiwa Savage and Teni have sparked a fresh celebrity boxing conversation after Teni challenged her senior colleague to a bout with a proposed ₦1.5 billion purse.

Tiwa appeared ready to entertain the challenge, replying to Teni’s social media post with a brief but direct message: “Pick a date.”

Teni Calls Out Tiwa Savage for a Boxing Showdown

Teni made the challenge in a video shared on October 2 while discussing the earnings of Nigerian entertainers and the expensive cars some celebrities own.

In her usual playful style, she imagined stepping into the ring with Tiwa and suggested that a ₦1.5 billion purse could help her afford a Bugatti.

Teni also joked that she would sing Tiwa’s “My Darling” after the proposed fight.

Tiwa Savage Has One Simple Response

Tiwa responded to Teni’s challenge in the comment section with just three words:

“Pick a date.”

The response quickly turned the playful exchange into a talking point among fans, particularly following the recent rise of celebrity boxing events in Nigeria.

No Official Fight Has Been Confirmed Yet

Despite Tiwa’s response, there is currently no confirmed fight date, promoter or formal agreement for a Teni versus Tiwa Savage boxing match.

For now, the exchange appears to remain playful social-media banter, although Tiwa’s response has certainly added to the excitement surrounding the idea.

Celebrity Boxing Continues to Trend

The conversation comes shortly after Phyna and Nkechi Blessing faced each other in a celebrity boxing bout in Lagos as part of Balmoral Group Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring series.

Other entertainers, including Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe, have also featured in bouts connected to the series.

Whether Teni and Tiwa eventually take their social-media challenge into the ring remains to be seen.
