Orezi reacts to Portable’s claim about Zlatan, reveals artist was paid ₦400 million for one show.

Singer Orezi has weighed in on controversial musician Portable’s claim that Zlatan Ibile has ₦500 million in his bank account, saying top African artists actually earn far more for single performances.

Taking to his Instagram story, Orezi revealed that he personally performed at a concert in January where an unnamed colleague was paid ₦400 million for a single gig. He explained that ₦500 million, roughly $350,000, is minor money compared to what top-tier stars make today.

“I performed at a show in Jan where a fellow artist was paid 400m,” Orezi wrote. “Portable, for some artist 500m NA LESS oo… The prayer na make we reach that level oo. Abeg make I go enter studio.”

The exchange began after street-pop singer Portable shared a video displaying what he claimed was Zlatan Ibile’s live bank app balance, boasting that the rapper holds ₦500 million.

Orezi (Esegine Allen), best known for his string of 2010s hits like “Rihanna” and “Shoki,” used the moment to highlight the massive financial growth in the Nigerian music industry. With top Afrobeats acts now commanding multi-million-naira performance fees both locally and internationally, Orezi noted that ₦500 million is no longer the ceiling for major artists.
