Burna Boy, Shakira’s “Dai Dai” Hits 1 Billion YouTube Views

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy and Colombian pop icon Shakira have reached another major global milestone as their 2026 FIFA World Cup collaboration, “Dai Dai,” surpasses 1 billion views on YouTube.

The official music video, uploaded to Shakira’s YouTube channel, crossed the billion-view mark this week. Reports citing the channel’s view counter put it at more than 1.0 billion views, making it the first song released in 2026 to reach one billion YouTube views.

“Dai Dai” Becomes a Global Hit

Released in May 2026, “Dai Dai” brought together Burna Boy’s Afrobeats sound and Shakira’s Latin-pop style for the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The track benefited enormously from the global attention surrounding the tournament, with the pair performing it during the World Cup festivities.

Spotify also recently named “Dai Dai” among its Songs of Summer 2026, reporting that the track spent 37 days at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Chart and topped charts in 17 countries. Spotify also identified its music video as the most-streamed video of the summer.

Another Major Milestone for Burna Boy

The billion-view achievement further strengthens Burna Boy’s reputation as one of Africa’s biggest global music stars.

For Shakira, “Dai Dai” becomes her 10th music video to surpass one billion YouTube views, according to reports.

The song’s success also highlights the continued international growth of Nigerian Afrobeats, with Burna Boy taking the genre to another enormous global audience.
